Skin tags are small lesions that protrude from the skin and can appear in areas of friction eg: neck, armpits, groin. They are skin coloured or brown in colour. They are harmless but often catch on clothing and jewellery and can bleed. Sometimes they can be large and uncomfortable.
Dr Friedmann is a multi-award-winning consultant dermatologist with over 25 years of experience in dermatology. Having trained at leading London hospitals, he can treat all conditions that affect the skin, hair and nails. Dr Friedmann specialises in skin tag removal.
What To Expect
Your consultant dermatologist will take a thorough medical history and examine your skin in order to confirm the diagnosis of skin tags. The consultant will then discuss all treatment options available to you.
Once the diagnosis of your skin tag has been made, a treatment plan can be formulated to remove it. This may comprise surgical removal or cryosurgery in some cases (treating with super-cold liquid nitrogen)
Our surgical procedures are undertaken in a state of the art operating theatre. Minor procedures might be undertaken in our CQC-approved consulting rooms. Local anaesthetic is used making for painless procedures.

FAQ's
For cryotherapy using liquid nitrogen, there is a slight cold sting for each lesion. This settles within a few minutes. Surgical excisions of larger lesions are entirely pain-free, using local anaesthesia which is delivered by injection with a very fine needle.
Skin tag treatment is entirely scar-free in most cases. Large skin tags requiring surgical removal may leave a small scar.
Most people return to normal activities immediately. Strenuous sport and swimming activities need to be postponed for 2-3 days. Occasionally for surgical removals, a small dressing is required to cover the wound for up to a week.
If removal is necessary for medical reasons (e.g. the lesion is painful, bleeding, catching on clothing etc.) then, your insurance provider is likely to cover the costs.
We offer the best-value consultant dermatologist fees in the UK. In addition to the consultation fee, skin tag treatments start from as little as £95 for treatment of single lesions, up to £595 for surgical excision of large lesions.
